Shreve Memorial Library will offer a new service to students when classes resume on January 8. In partnership with the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, several Shreve Memorial Library branches will offer a new after-school feeding and enrichment program for students and children up to age 18.
Program activities will include a healthy after-school meal provided by the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana and activities in science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) concepts as well as life skills training and reading. Students will have an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of topics including life after high school, nutrition and healthy eating, animals, science and technology, current events and holidays, and library resources. Hands-on activities such as mock interviews, maker classes, crafts and story times will also be available.

The after-school feeding programs will begin the week of January 8 and continue through the end of the current school year.
