“Read A Latte” Winter Reading Program Begins December 21

Read a Latte

This winter, we encourage patrons to curl up with a good book and a hot cup of coffee during the library’s “Read a Latte” Winter Reading Program. The program for ages 18 and older starts Thursday, December 21 and continues through March 20, 2018.

“Our goal is to provide an engaging program that will encourage leisure reading among adults,” said Lauren Metzger, Programming and Outreach Librarian for Shreve Memorial Library.

“Read a Latte” encourages participants to read five books while interacting with others who also share a love of reading. Throughout the program, patrons can earn winter and coffee-themed online badges as well as book bucks for each book read. Book bucks can be used to alleviate overdue fines.

You can also earn online badges for completing activities such as recommending a new book to a friend, reading books from different genres, and attending a library book club program. Those who complete the goal of reading five books will automatically be entered into a grand prize drawing for a coffee-themed gift basket from Rhino Coffee. The grand prize drawing will take place on Friday, March 30, 2018.

Registration for “Read a Latte” is free and can be completed online on our Beanstack site: https://shreve-lib.beanstack.org/. You can also register in person at any branch of the library.
