Professor Universe & Captain Maggie Ocean Adventures at SML June 13 - 29

Shreve Memorial Library is inviting readers of all ages to discover “Oceans of Possibilities” this summer at the library. Children, teens, adults and families will dive into the ocean depths through reading and interactive programs as part of the library’s “Oceans of Possibilities” Summer Reading Program. This month, Shreve Memorial Library welcomes performers Professor Universe and Captain Maggie to library branches throughout Caddo Parish. Each live, interactive performance is free and open to the public, and library patrons of all ages are invited to attend these amazing ocean adventures.

Beginning Monday, June 13, Professor Universe returns to Shreve Memorial Library branches with an all new show, entitled “Into the Deep.” In this one-human spectacle, Professor Universe will take kids on a grand, scientific adventure spanning the ocean. Kids will learn how amazing systems of global currents unites the ocean, and how most of our oxygen comes from the sea. They will journey through mystifying coral reefs and into the deepest depths, discovering the fantastic life beneath the waves. Each scientific concept is conveyed through fun, play, and audience participation via a cast of kooky characters: a mermaid with rhythm, a feisty plankton, a hungry angler fish and more.
