The Genealogy Department will host an African American Family History Workshop on Saturday, February 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop will take place in the Genealogy Department at the Broadmoor Branch of Shreve Memorial Library.

During the workshop, you will learn how to research your family history, discover resources for performing your search, and get a tour of the Genealogy Department. There will also be one-on-one help as time allows.

Most of the discussion in the workshop will emphasize research in northern Louisiana. You will also get introduced to Erica Hubbard’s African American Genealogy along the Upper Red River.

The workshop is free and open to the public. Registration is not required. For more information, call the Genealogy Department at 318-219-3468.
