Shreve Memorial Library invites readers of all ages to discover “Oceans of Possibilities” during its 2022 Summer Reading Program. The Summer Reading Program offers fun programs for everyone. Throughout the summer, adults are encouraged to enjoy a variety of interactive art programs inspired by the “Oceans of Possibilities” theme. Art programs such as “Linda Moss Art: Octopus’s Garden,” “Art with Marci Hicks,” and “Sea Shell Paper Collage,” will take place at Shreve Memorial Library branches throughout Caddo Parish. The programs and art supplies for the programs are free, and adults are encouraged to attend.
Local artists Linda Moss and Marci Hicks will lead a series of ocean-themed workshops in June and July. Linda Moss will facilitate “Linda Moss Art: Octopus’s Garden” at the branches listed below. The painting workshop teaches adults how to paint an octopus's garden. The programs will take place during the following times and on the designated dates:
Additionally, Marci Hicks will teach library patrons how to use card sketches and templates to make ocean themed greeting cards. Registration is required for this program. Adults are also encouraged to participate in “Sea Shell Paper Collage” workshops. Attendees will learn how to make art on canvas using just paper. The programs are as followed:
