Submit Nominations for One Book One Parish Title Through July 1

One Book One Parish

Shreve Memorial Library is now accepting recommendations for One Book One Parish title. Each year, the library’s One Book One Parish campaign unites Caddo Parish by promoting one book title throughout the month of October. Now through July 1, library patrons and the public can nominate their favorite book title for consideration. Books can be either fiction or nonfiction and from any genre. Nominations will be accepted online at

One Book One Parish encourages adults to read and join a parish-wide conversation about one particular book. Previous One Book One Parish book titles have included The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett, Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward, Queen Sugar by Natalie Baszile, and Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall. Throughout the month of October, special programs, including book discussions, author talks, craft event, interactive displays, and additional themed-programs related to the selected book title, are held at Shreve Memorial Library branches throughout Caddo Parish.

All nominations for One Book One Parish title will be reviewed, and the list of suggestions will be narrowed down to a top three. Library patrons and the public will have an opportunity to vote for the final One Book One Parish title later in July. The deadline to submit all nominations for consideration is Friday, July 1.
