Shreve Memorial Library Board is pleased to announce and congratulate the appointment of Deborah Yarbrough as its newest board member of Shreve Memorial Library Board of Control.
Yarbrough fills the vacant term of former board member, and Board President Neil Johnson, who retired in 2022. Yarbrough is a native of Belcher, and manages the daily operations of the Belcher United State Post Office. She is also the owner of The Wild Petunia, a special events venue. Yarbrough is a graduate of Louisiana State University at Shreveport with a B. S. Degree in General Studies.
Yarbrough is appointed by the Caddo Parish Commission, and will serve through December 31, 2027. Shreve Memorial Library Board of Control is the governing authority for the Shreve Memorial Library System. The Board is composed of five members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council and three members appointed by the Parish Commission, with the Mayor and Parish Commission President serving as ex-officio members.
Shreve Memorial Library Board of Control meets on the fourth Monday of every other month at 2:00 p.m. in the Library Support Services Center at 885 Bert Kouns Industrial Drive.
