Registration for Shreve Memorial Library’s annual Summer Reading Program begins today as library patrons are invited to dream, discover, do “All Together Now” at the library. The 2023 Summer Reading Program theme, “All Together Now,” reminds all that libraries are for everyone and encourages library patrons to treat each other with kindness, foster community, celebrate diversity, and come together to create a better world. Library patrons can sign-up today, April 24, for the summer-long event on Beanstack.
“All Together Now” is open to all ages, and patrons can participate by logging books online and attending a large variety of interactive programs this summer at Shreve Memorial Library. Children, age birth to 10, are encouraged to read five books over the summer, teens age 11 to 17 are asked to read at least three books, and adults are tasked with reading two books. As patrons log books online, they will receive digital badges for each book read. Those who complete the 2023 Summer Reading Program challenge will receive an assortment of prizes including tote bags, books, pencils, erasers and other promotional items.
Shreve Memorial Library patrons can sign up for the 2023 “All Together Now” Summer Reading Program beginning Monday, April 24. Registration can be completed online through the library’s Beanstack site at https://shreve-lib.beanstack.org/reader365. Registered participants can begin logging books on June 1. The deadline for completion of the Summer Reading Program is Monday, August 14.
Throughout the summer, Shreve Memorial Library will host a variety of live, interactive programs inspired by the “All Together Now” theme and ideas of kindness, friendship, community and culture. Performers scheduled for the summer include Say W.H.A.T. (Working Hard All Together) Now!, Frank and Tammy’s Magic Puppet Show, Alex Thomas and Friends, Professor QB, Geebo the Clown, Patriotic Patty, Lady Chops, DAT Does the Trick and more. Additional hands-on programs, including arts and crafts workshops and STEAM learning opportunities, will also take place in conjunction with the “All Together Now” Summer Reading Program. All programs and performances for the Summer Reading Program will take place June 1 through July 31 at Shreve Memorial Library branches throughout Caddo Parish. All performances and programs are free and open to the public.
