SML Adds STEAM Kits and Movie Binge Boxes to Collection

Shreve Memorial Library is expanding its collection with new educational and entertainment items for all ages. In addition to the library’s vast selection of books, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and audiobooks, library patrons can now check out STEAM kits for children and movie binge boxes with their Shreve Memorial Library card.

STEAM To Go Kits from Penworthy are available at the Broadmoor and Hamilton/South Caddo Branches of Shreve Memorial Library. STEAM To Go Kits contain books, activities, and supplies needed to complete a variety of science, technology, engineering, art and math experiments and projects. The kits are perfect for children in grades Pre-K through 3 and cover topics such as phonics, food and nutrition, letters and numbers, preschool and kindergarten prep, math (money and economics), shapes, colors, and spelling.

STEAM To Go Kits can be checked out for a period of two weeks from the Broadmoor Branch, located at 1212 Captain Shreve Drive, and the Hamilton/South Caddo Branch, located at 2111 Bert Kouns Industrial Loop. Adult patrons are able to check out one kit at a time. Because the kits contain multiple items, STEAM To Go Kits cannot be returned via book drop and must be returned inside of the library branch during normal business hours.

In addition to STEAM To Go Kits, Shreve Memorial Library recently added movie binge boxes to its collection. Binge boxes are collections of four to six movies with a similar theme packaged together in one DVD case. Binge boxes are available for all ages and come in an assortment of themes and genres making it easy to find a binge box for all tastes and interests. Binge boxes can be checked out for a period of two weeks from any Shreve Memorial Library branch.
