Indoor Programming Returns to SML Sept. 7

Indoor Programming Returns to SML Sept. 7

Shreve Memorial Library patrons are invited to join the library for indoor programs after the Labor Day holidays. Beginning on Tuesday, September 7, library patrons can once again enjoy in-person, indoor programs at all Shreve Memorial Library branches. In addition, large meeting rooms at the library branches will reopen for public use.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many library programs, such as storytimes, craft programs and book clubs, transitioned to digital and virtual settings in March 2020 and have continued virtually through 2021. In May of 2021, Shreve Memorial Library branches began offering in-person, outdoor programs. Following the Labor Day closures, Shreve Memorial Library will resume indoor, in-person programming in addition to virtual program offerings and outdoor programs.

Due to current COVID-19 restrictions and the Governor’s mask mandate, registration, masks and social distancing will be required for all programs. Space will be limited to allow for social distancing. A complete list of upcoming programs at Shreve Memorial Library branches can be found online at Those interested in attending programs can register in person at the library branch or by phone.

In addition to the return of indoor programming, large meeting rooms at Shreve Memorial Library branches will open for public use on Tuesday, September 7. Large meeting rooms are available at all full-time Shreve Memorial Library branches. Meeting rooms can be used for studying, informal meetings, seminars, workshops, presentations and forums. Use of meeting rooms is free of charge, but must be reserved ahead of time. Library patrons can reserve meeting rooms online via the Shreve Memorial Library website or in person at the library branches. Due to current COVID-19 guidelines, no food or drink is allowed in the meeting rooms.

Shreve Memorial Library branches are open throughout Caddo Parish for browsing and checkouts, computer access, reference help, Readers’ Advisory, printing and faxing services, and curbside pickup. All visitors to Shreve Memorial Library branches ages five and older must wear a face mask to enter, and face masks are required at all times while in the library branch. No eating or drinking is currently allowed in any library branch.
