HOMOEROTIC POETRY &

The first portion of this lecture will explore the ways contemporary LGBT poets, notably Danez Smith and Stephen S. Mills, incorporate and synthesize overt and/or covert [homo]eroticism and mundaneness in their poetry. The second portion will be a reading of poems from Christopher Floyd’s thesis collection, Stomach to Spine.

Please note that we will not be setting up individual email accounts during this class.

Computer Basics is a hands-on 6-week class giving a very basic introduction to the parts of the computer and how to use them, focusing on its primary navigational tool, the mouse. Part 3's topic is Tracing your family back into slavery. Slave research is very challenging, but not impossible. Henry Bibb was a famous abolitionist, but outside of his own memoir, hardly left a trace of his life as a slave in north Louisiana in the 1840s. Henry and Mariah Means’ lives have been traced to their times as slaves on Roseneath Plantation in De Soto Parish. Contact the Genealogy Department for more information.
