Subscribe to calendar notifications by clicking on the Notify Me button, and you will automatically be alerted about the latest events in our community. When searching the calendar, enter a Start Date in the area next to the search box to receive the most recent events.

Join us at the Belcher Library during the month of May (Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 3:30pm) to hear a story book by one of the Children's Book Festival's featured authors, Jennifer L. Holm. You will hear either 'The Evil Princess vs. The Brave Knight' or The Evil Princess vs. The Brave Knight Take Turns'. You will also make a crown to wear home.

This story time is specifically for babies and their caregivers featuring songs, rhymes, bounces and stories. Recommended for newborns to approximately 18 months old. Older siblings are welcome & encouraged to bring a stuffed animal as their own “baby."
Children in grades 1-5 are invited to join us in bubble experiments! This program will be held outside, weather permitting.
Ages 3-5 and their caregivers are invited to join us for an interactive story-time with lots of singing, moving, and crafting! Large groups are asked to call a week in advance to secure seating.

Let’s celebrate Children’s Book Week with author Brenda Maier. We will read her book Peeping Beauty. We will celebrate fairy tales through games, songs, and stories. Children will make a Peeping Chick craft. Author Brenda Maier will make an appearance at the Shreve Memorial Library Children’s Book Festival Saturday, May 7 at LSU Shreveport!
This program targets preschool children to provide pleasurable reading, viewing, and listening experiences. Our priority is to provide services and materials that stimulate imaginations and encourage a life-long love of learning.
Teen are invited to create and learn through experimentation on STEAM Thursdays. Ages 12-18.
Join us with Lupus Advocate, Delebra Hudson, as she presents a Go Purple, End Lupus presentation, this Lupus Awareness Month!
Children ages 4 to 11 will enjoy a craft, snack and bedtime story with their favorite stuffed animal. Afterwards, the children will leave their stuffed animals at the library for their sleepover, then the shenanigans begin! This will be an event your child will not want to miss!
