MENTAL HEALTH, SOCIAL MEDIA & THE WOMEN OF GENERATION Z
Presented by Tori Thomas
This presentation, which is part of a larger documentary film, explores the impacts of social media on young women in the Shreveport-Bossier area to discover the extent to which social media use affects self-esteem. This research asks if Gen Z women are conforming to the beauty standards that have been popularized on appearance based social media sites by resorting to cosmetic procedures. While this trend has been studied at the national level, no one has yet explored the correlation between social media use, mental health, and plastic surgery here in Shreveport-Bossier.
You are invited to join the Red River Readers Book Club for our discussion of The Daughters of Yalta: The Churchills, Roosevelts and Harrimans: A Story of Love and War.
