Shreve Memorial Library provides computer access for the blind and visually impaired through the JAWS program, a screen reader that allows the blind and visually impaired to navigate the computers.
The JAWS software is available on select computers at the following branches: Main, Broadmoor, Hamilton South Caddo, Mooretown, and North Caddo.
MAGic Screen Magnification is a software program that can magnify a computer screen. MAGic has 46 magnification levels from 1x to 36x.
MAGic is available at Main. Ask for assistance at the Information Services Desk.
The TOPAZ® desktop video magnifier provides a clear, crisp image for viewing print materials. The large work surface is illuminated. The TOPAZ is simple to use with an on/off switch and three dials for basic video magnification functions: increase / decrease magnification, enhanced color modes, and adjust brightness.
TOPAZ is available at Main. Ask at the Information Service desk for assistance.
The State Library of Louisiana Talking Books and Braille Library provides free public library service to Louisiana residents of all ages who cannot easily read standard printed materials due to a visual impairment, physical disability or a reading disability whether it is permanent or temporary.
