Make & Go - Mobile Makerspace

We are proud to present the Make & Go, Shreve Memorial Library’s new Mobile Makerspace. The new vehicle rolled out into the public in the spring of 2019, just in time for National Library Week.

The Make & Go will provide STEAM programming on the go, traveling to outreach events in the community, the library’s 21 branches throughout Caddo Parish, SPAR Recreation Centers and more.

Materials for use with the Make & Go include laptops, iPads, a 3D printer and scanner, robotics, building sets, portable hotspots, arts and craft supplies, SNAP circuits, and sewing and embroidery tools. All of these items will let us expand our programming and let you get creative and make something new!

It is the practice of Shreve Memorial Library’s Programming and Outreach Team to provide programs for the library branches and community organizations and attend events offsite as scheduled.  However, to ensure the safety of employees during periods of inclement weather, scheduled programs and attendance at events may be cancelled or postponed.

Programming & Outreach Inclement Weather Procedures

For the safety of Shreve Memorial Library’s Programming & Outreach Team, employees will not drive outreach vehicles when the wind speed is above 30 MPH. 

Programming & Outreach events and/or the Mobile Library route may be shortened or canceled when there is a sudden change in conditions such as: 

• thunderstorm, lightning, tornado warning, flood warning, etc. 

We will assess and adjust the outreach event and Mobile Library route to meet safety standards. This may include shortening or canceling events. 

All Programming & Outreach events and/or the Mobile Library route may be shortened or canceled during inclement weather. 

• Precipitation: Heavy rain, hail, snow, or sleet. 
• Road Conditions: flooding, ice, or snow. 
• Outdoor Events: heat advisory or heat warning

The Programming & Outreach Team and/or Mobile Library staff will contact individuals and organizations when possible, due to inclement weather, to shorten or cancel an outreach event or Mobile Library route.
