Didgeridoo Down Under Show: Artful Adventure to the Land Down Under

Join us for an Artful Adventure to the Land Down Under...where we'll hear colorful sounds from the didgeridoo...We'll learn about fascinating Aboriginal artwork...we'll explore the beautiful Great Barrier Reef...we'll marvel at amazing creatures like kangaroo and koa-las...and much more! The DDU show is an energetic fusion of Australian music, culture, art, comedy, character building, storytelling and audience movement/participation. It's interac-tive, educational, motivational and super fun for all ages!

Ceramics Painting With The Clayground

Color your world with painted ceramics. Join The Playground employees as they lead a ceramics painting experience at the library. Finished pieces will be fired at The Playground, then returned to each branch for patrons to pick up. Class size is limited to 10 people. Registration is required.

Ladychops: Drum Roll Please!

Elizabeth Vidos, also known as Lady Chops, is bringing her one-woman drumming show to the Library this summer! Lady Chops is a talented percussionist whose past work includes performing in the hit Off-Broadway show "STOMP." Her performance is energetic, interactive and fun for all ages.

Margaret Clauder: The Colorful World of Mother Nature

Mother Nature presents the Colorful World of Mother Nature. Children will learn the difference between nocturnal and diurnal animals with the help of puppet friend Mama Raccoon. They will also learn about an unusual carnivorous plant, the Venus fly trap, through the help of Audrey (puppet) who is on the hunt for hamburgers or tacos.

Walter B. Jacobs Memorial Nature Park

In this program, a Park Naturalist will share fun facts about three animals native to Louisiana. Children will meet a live Three-toed Box Turtle and a Hog-nose Snake, and they'll even get the chance to dress up one of their friends as an Opossum!

Will Parker and the Make Believe Band

Will Parker is a children's songwriter and teaching artist who writes and performs music for "kids ages 1-100." During Will's whimsical and interactive shows, he plays guitar and harmonica and sings original songs that engage the audience in singing-along, dancing, high-fiving, and imaginative play. The kids even help Will create an improvised song through their suggestions and input on what should happen next in the impromptu story.
